Planning Programs and Fees

Terms vary organization to organization. We will assist you in creating or updating key elements, whatever you want to call them.

We’re so confident about our value to your process that we list our fees here for you to consider. All programs include appropriate documentation of the plans:

Visioning Retreat, Tier I

  • Focus staff and volunteer leaders on vivid and engaging statement of ideal outcomes, some of which are two or more decades ahead.
  • Make your communities come out like you want them to and have them support your growth your way.
  • Create dynamic statements that engage and enthuse every one and drive your institution forward.
  • When taking your planning to a whole new level, we conduct a pre-retreat private Webinar or conference call define what that next step means, and to set the stage for research assignments.
  • Conducting your own research makes the future truly yours, and the capabilities are retained for a built-in future-orientation.
  • The facilitator will assist with coordinating the culture change and follow up quarterly to support keeping focused on farther horizons.
  • About 18 months following, hold a conference call to review relevance and “rightness” of this plan in relation to other plans.
  • Retreats at this level need only be conducted once in 3 or more years.
  • One and a half to two-day event. $5,800.

Fantasizing about visions that may initially be seen as unreachable is the
most positive and practical thing you can do to start a session. More than
that, it may be the only way the humans have ever made major
improvements in their world.  ~Jane Garthson

Core Values

When your values are clear to you, making decisions becomes easier.  ~Roy Disney

We commonly hear ”Mission, Vision and Values” spoken together. The implication is that core values are on a similar plane of influence and importance. We agree. While identifying core values often begins during a planning effort, we believe the list of Core Values belong in high-level policies. Value statements found only in plans imply that market forces may cause you to change them. Instead, we believe your value statements deserve more permanence; the corporate culture represented by your value statements form a foundation for strategies that will help genereate your continued success.

Strategy Planning Retreat, Tier II

    • Confirm or develop “enterprise-wide” strategy that makes you stand out in a crowded marketplace.
    • Standouts include key pricing/branching/branding strategies, organizational survival skills and abilities, and a compelling and unique selling proposition.
    • Explore possibilities for rendering the competition irrelevant and creating a solid brand identity.

Excellent job of allowing us to come up with the ideas.

You added ideas only when it was needed.

~ planning participant

  • Join in a private conference call to set the stage for the retreat.
  • Hold a conference call with the consultant to determine the effectiveness of internal research and collaboration continues to inform the strategy.
  • This retreat need only be conducted once in 3 years or so. Monthly board meetings provide opportunities to discuss strategic issues and amend strategic plan elements.
  • Subsequent retreats should attempt to abandon strategies that no longer support mission and vision.
  • One and a half to two-day event $5,100.

Tactical, Long-Range Planning, Tier III

  • Establish key result areas with due dates from 2 to 10 years (give or take) in this long-range planning retreat. Put dreams of success back into planning at the far end of the horizon; making near-term decisions with those in mind assures you will one-day make them specific, resourced, and achieved.
  • The retreat is based on trends, confirmed by the management team, and affecting the industry and your institution.
  • Attention will be paid to four major operational categories.
  • If needed and appropriate, facilitator will train and coach mid-managers to facilitate Tier IV operational/budget-period planning with staff.
  • One to one and a half day event is $4,700.

Business Operational Planning, Tier IV

Rather than have us facilitate operational planning with your staff, you benefit more by having managers do the facilitation. Managers not only enhance their leadership and presentation skills, but knowing the operation, they can make next year’s goals and plans most effective. We’ll train and coach managers as needed to raise their facilitation skills; build internal strengths, and the fees to outside facilitators on the Tier IV level will fade away.  It is not only more economical for you, it also increases the value of your capable employees.

Note: the above retreats are not designed to be accomplished in rapid succession. Below we describe how a progressive credit union can implement our entire planning model over a period of two to three years, without missing a beat in the near term.

Book a combination of two or more facilitation projects and save from 20 to 30%. Ask about that when you call for a free assessment.

Implement Our Entire Planning Model

  • Your planning process from top to bottom, mission to goals, becomes a seamless on-going process.
  • Every one from the Chair, through the CEO, to the line staff is engaged year-round working on the future.
  • Planning is a part of each person’s job and not an event — although events do occur.
  • All four tiers are a part of your business model.
  • You have a competitive intelligence gathering process conducted by management.
  • Strategic thinking by top management spills over to engage the board.
  • Top management and the board think and talk in decades, while monitoring current performance.
  • Increase your abilities to compete, grow, generate a constant revenue, and meet regulatory obligations.
  • Management and staff implement the big picture by budgeting to achieve annual goals.
  • Your entire organization anticipates and is prepared for all the world’s challenges and changes.
  • Your planning culture is what others want to emulate.
  • Accomplish this culture change in several retreats over 18 to 30 months.

To give this project he attention it deserves, we will only take on three such projects at one time. Total project price is $23,000 including four on-sites and quarterly phone-consultations over 3 years.

Travel expenses are in addition to stated fees; we have earned a reputation for being frugal. We can take the unknowns out of it for you by setting travel costs as a fixed number. Under RESOURCES, For Meeting Planners, you’ll find our “Red Eye Travel Policies.”

If you don’t see a program that matches your needs, let us design one that does. Perhaps you need to work on a value proposition, clarify your target market, or settle on one overall strategy; we can facilitate that.
