Board Information Management

The 20th Century saw the digital age provide ways humans never thought possible for storing and sharing information. In spite of that, laws and regulations have not defined what a board should receive to remain informed. That’s true because the fiduciary duty of care remains the same in this regard: a board needs to show that it was diligent in its decision making.

Does that mean a board must have more information for today’s decisions over yesterday’s?

This session defines the information a board needs as a steady diet, and addresses the information it needs to make  unique decisions. In the process, a board’s agenda package will slim down and become more relevant. We’ll explore the processes a board can use to remake its information system.

Following this session, participants will:

  • Be able to assess their current information needs and compare that to what they’re receiving
  • Make changes to improve their performance under fiduciary duties and heightened scruitiny
  • Save time and money reducing the size and weight of their meeting agenda packets
